Inside the hospital, the Cognitive Clinical Success Machine works to identify those individuals who are on a trajectory toward sepsis. The vector is not a sepsis detection solution. Rather, the propensity information delivered by the solution actually complements sepsis detection by enabling focused resource allocation and reduced care giver cognitive load. The machine is designed so that even at the earliest stages of contact with a patient, appropriate, early action can be initiated. This includes risk propensity outputs delivered at the point of admission to enable sepsis planning and rapid escalation if at at-risk patient develops signs of sepsis onset.
