Intermountain Healthcare and Trinity Health Make Growth Investment in AI Leader Jvion

The investment reflects both providers’ commitments to improving patient outcomes and care quality through advanced, proven AI and prescriptive analytics.

Atlanta, Georgia, FEB 13, 2019 – Leading healthcare Artificial Intelligence (AI) firm Jvion announced a growth investment from healthcare leaders Intermountain Healthcare and Trinity Health. This round of funding is an expansion of the existing customer relationship between Jvion and both providers and demonstrates their respective ongoing commitments to healthcare innovation, including the practical application of AI solutions for driving improved quality and health outcomes. This investment comes less than a month after the announcement of a significant growth equity investment led by JMI Equity, Health Enterprise Partners and Health Velocity Capital. KLAS recently recognized Jvion’s solution for its leadership in the growing field of clinical analytics, and for edging out predictive analytics solutions offered by top acute care EMR vendors.

Intermountain Healthcare and Trinity Health—both recognized for their leadership in digital health innovation—are customers of Jvion’s AI-driven prescriptive analytics platform.

“Jvion’s Cognitive Machine has the ability to transform data into valuable clinical insights,” said Nickolas Mark, Managing Director and Partner of Intermountain Ventures. “We will work with Jvion to improve care delivery using artificial intelligence and machine learning. This investment will aim to help patients around the world.”

By making a financial investment in Jvion’s technology and future growth, both providers are helping to bring leading, proven AI to the broader provider community.

“We invest in innovations like Jvion’s because we are committed to using creativity and technology to transform the health and wellness of the people we serve,” said Dina Richard, Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer for Trinity Health. “It is key to ensuring we are using every possible resource for achieving our goal of being, and becoming, more people-centered every day.”

As changing patient demographics and increased clinical demand continue to pressure providers, Jvion’s secure AI platform provides a solution that equips clinicians with the actionable information they need to improve outcomes and avoid health regression. The company’s analytics engine transforms information about a patient including his/her health, socioeconomic status, behaviors, and environment into targeted risk and intervention insights across more than 50 adverse events. Jvion’s technology identifies the specific patients on a risk trajectory toward a target event, determines if that trajectory can be changed, and—if so—provides the individualized interventions that will improve outcomes. The solution has been applied across inpatient and ambulatory settings, including specialty-specific bundles, as well as within health payer settings.

“As we work to bring proven and effective AI to more providers and patients, we have the potential to transform the way healthcare understands and uses AI,” said Shantanu Nigam, Jvion’s CEO. “The partnership with Intermountain Healthcare and Trinity Health will help ensure that AI is in the hands of the clinicians who need it and that its potential to keep people healthier is realized.”
