Geisinger selected Jvion’s Cognitive Clinical Success Machine as one of the organization’s critical Artificial Intelligence (AI) assets. The decision to move forward with Jvion was made after a successful initial pilot and validation of the solution’s performance with industry peers. The initial scope of cognitive machine application will be to Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) related readmissions, and avoidable COPD admissions for patients served by the Geisinger Medical Center—the system’s largest hospital.
“The integration of Jvion’s solution is another step in the Institute’s plan to transform healthcare delivery by improving quality, outcomes, and patient experience, while optimizing efficiencies,” said Dr. Karen Murphy, Executive Vice President, Chief Innovation Officer and Founding Director of the Steele Institute for Healthcare Innovation at Geisinger. “Leveraging demonstrated AI, we hope to accelerate our path to preventing patient illness and deterioration, optimizing patient care, and improving patient health outcomes. Our goal is to apply the capabilities of the machine to drive significant improvements for some of the largest and most debilitating challenges, that we face as healthcare providers.”
The use of the Jvion Cognitive Machine is another manifestation of Geisinger’s focus on elevating the patient journey to provide the highest quality care in the most efficient and effective way. By integrating leading, proven AI into the technology landscape, Dr. Murphy and the care teams at Geisinger Medical Center are leading the industry in applied innovation that results in real patient impact.
“We are excited to be part of this project and an AI partner for Geisinger’s Steele Institute for Healthcare Innovation,” said Ritesh Sharma, Jvion Chief Operations Officer. “Geisinger is a strategic addition to Jvion’s community of clients paving a path for the provider market to really better the way care is delivered. Their continued commitment to innovation is the reason why the organization stands as a leader among their peers and the broader healthcare industry.”
Jvion’s Cognitive Machine uses Eigen-based technology to help providers take the actions that will improve health. Our approach enables the transposition of patients directly onto our machine so that providers can immediately ask 50+ questions about a patient’s health, risk, and impactability. For each question, the machine delivers an individual patient’s risk; the clinical and non-clinical factors propelling the risk; and the most effective actions/interventions to mitigate the risk. The machine is an AI Asset that delivers ROI within weeks, future-proofs the organization, and drives a greater guarantee of success by avoiding the pitfalls of models builds and predictive analytics.
